Sorry Bills fans but the Pats will indeed win this weekend

Buffalo Bills fans are out in full force this week on social media. The adorable fanbase known as “The Bills Mafia” appears to be ready for their “Superbowl” against the Patriots this weekend. It’s all fun and games for them now but I’ll be anxious to see how they are feeling Saturday evening after yet another loss to the Patriots.

I get it. I do. Bills fans have a lot of pent up frustration as their glory days came way before smart phones, Facebook, or heck even the internet. The only way they had to talk trash back when their team was last relevant was to stand in 14 feet of snow at a pay phone bragging about Thurman Thomas. Buffalo was also pretty good way back when OJ was slashing his way to the end zone decades ago.

This millennium the Bills have had all of four winning seasons. Three times they went an oh so impressive 9-7. All other years were pretty terrible.

And I shouldn’t have to remind the Bills Mafia you have one “real” win against New England in a decade. Go ahead and brag. It’s cool. Buffalo is a miserable and embarrassing 3-16 versus the Pats the past 10 years. One of those wins was at the end of a season when the Pats rested almost everyone because, unlike the Bills, they were going to the playoffs.

One other win was when the NFL wrongly suspended Tom Brady and Jimmy G was a last minute scratch. So an unprepared Jacoby Brissette made a spot start and struggled.

Sorry but the Bills get Brady and the starters this weekend. Although Brady’s elbow is a bit of a concern I will admit.

But this is the same Tom Brady, who presently holds a record versus Buffalo of 29–3 with 68 touchdowns.

Heck he has won more games in Buffalo than any Bills quarterback since 2001.

I admit it was a true battle in Buffalo earlier this year for sure. But the Pats still won.
This one is at Foxboro, a place where New England has one of the biggest home field advantages in the NFL.

Two weeks ago the Chiefs and the refs teamed up to beat the Pats at home. Do you really think that Bill and Tom are going to lose two in a row, at home, in December with home field in the playoffs on the line?

Not. Gonna. Happen.

The Bills and the defending Super Bowl Champs have played pretty much the same schedule. New England has scored 81 more points than the Bills, allowed 41 fewer points and have outscored opponents by 191 points. Even as down as people are on the Pats, they are still better than the Bills.

In Hollywood the underdog often wins. Sometimes in real life too. But not this weekend.
So Bills fans enjoy your social media fun now. Because after Saturday it’ll be back to the snow banks and pay phone glory days for you.
